Springbrook News & Updates

Check out our Nature Activity Backpacks!

Thanks to the support of the the Friends of Fridley Education Foundation, Springbrook has added three activity backpacks that can be checked out a no cost. These themed packs focus on exploring the incredible insects, wonderful wildlife and wetlands within Springbrook Nature Center. Packs include binoculars, insect nets, bug boxes and so much more. You'll have a great time learning and discovering!

Where did the picnic shelter go?

Our aging picnic shelter was removed in March 2019 to make way for a new picnic pavilion! Slated for construction this summer, the new pavilion will feature a covered picnic area, concession window, bathrooms and a small indoor classroom. Stay tuned for more information about the timeline and rental options as the project progresses!

Are dogs welcome at Springbrook?

Most of the staff at Springbrook have dogs of our own and they are a part of our families. However, we ask that visitors leave their dogs at home when they visit. This is so families with young children and visitors uncomfortable around dogs feel safe. Springbrook also has fragile ecosystems that can be impacted by pet waste, and wildlife viewing is at its best in a quiet atmosphere.

If you want to take your dog your dog to the park, we recommend visiting
one of our many neighborhood parks
